Quick Reply seems to work. Sort of.

My last post is on page 30 of this thread. If I navigate to page 29, there is no page 30 option.

If I try to edit the bad photos on page 29, it previews fine, but when I post, it's as if nothing changed.

Okay, looks like my unconscious was working overtime.

When Beckmen Music owned the Washburn brand for a few years, the top-of-line model they had was the W-600, 1973-1974; check out the inlays --

There was also the W-500, with a little less flash around the edges.

Nobody knows what Japanese factory these came from. Wouldn't surprise me to find that SLM realized the line was available, & just rebranded (much as with Alvarez years later).

All a writer really needs is a blank page and a bad attitude.

Here's an AU962 in a color I haven't seen before: transparent black, I believe.

It's got a couple of extras, like a stacked/split bridge pickup, and the owner claims not a scratch on it. Steeply priced, though: one bid at $350. Two days left on eBay.

Congratulations on your new baby! I was tempted myself, but the price was more than I was willing to pay. That color doesn't show up in any of Austin's catalogs (the ones that I have, anyway). Very nice figuring in the maple.

Your Bigsby-equipped 792 is getting along swimmingly with my other guitars. The Dream 90s are just a tad bright for my preference, but that's what the tone knob is for. :)

.
.

Remember the discussion about how Alvarez stopped making basses, and Austin started making them—with the same unique details? Well, here's an Alvarez ASG4 that looks an awful lot like an Austin AU962...right down to the headstock.
