I don't have the PayPal balance right now to pull this off, but if you're in the mood for a fretless Fender Standard (Mexico) Jazz bass for ~$300, check this out:

I wasn't even aware that Fender HAD a lined fretless, so that was a bonus -- the Squire "Vintage Modified" Jazz is truly sweet, but common as dirt. Hey, I'm Frugal, but I can be tempted by a bargain with good resale value. Shhh

And it clearly comes from a good home. The owner fitted it out with the classic chrome pickup covers.

What caught my eye, though, is the factory purple finish. Fender only used that color in like 2000, maybe a year either way.

Figuring that the fretless Standard currently has a street price of $600, I just didn't see a downside. I traded a few emails with the seller, but we couldn't work out a non-PayPal deal. But he was very helpful, & I got nothing but good vibe from him, so I decided to give him a little boost.

The color was called Midnight Blue, I think. Looked deep purple in some light. Really nice color. '98-2001, perhaps?

All MIM Fretless Jazz were lined, as far as I know. I normally see these go for $400'ish on eBay.
