An interesting little builder in Thailand: http://www.custom-build-guitars.com/On eBay, they offer these at $250 minimum bid, shipped free. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Your-dr...&hash=item1e661e3b2cQuote:We can cut any shape Guitar Or Bass to your specs with an accuracy unsurpassed by any hand cutting and at a very affordable price. Use our body blanks or your own.
Pickups Holes $12.00 each. Neck Pockets $20.00 Outside body shape $65.00 Elec. Cavity $25.00 Body Channeling $35.00 Semi hollow body $35.00 Hollow body $45.00
Ask for our Mahogany, Ash and Poplar Guitar and Bass body blank stock.
Programming and setup one time charge of $65.00 per hour. We can program most guitar or bass bodies in two to three hours own design that a customer makes can take longer. Their quote form isn't anything like Warmoth's design-wizard drop-downs, but at that price I have to admit I'm intrigued....

Just...wow. Very tempting. Given it sounds like CNC, the build quality might be pretty good (and consistent).

Ooooh -- yeah!! Geez, I'd forgot all about that nifty bit of software. Who knew it'd have practical uses? While it might not be cost-effective for a one-off guitar -- though, compared to Warmoth or similar, not too bad -- what interests me is the possibility of paying the setup fee, then being able to order a few at a time for resale. What impressed me is that they are trying to set a clear difference from the current wave of Chinese "custom" guitars: Quote:Any model any style NO FAKE LOGO'S or Brandnames According to their website, they supply components to a brand in the Netherlands, who does final assembly. As a hands-on guy (& kinda paranoid about the detailing of factory guitars anyway), I like that idea for my own future shop -- plus, now I'm wondering if reduced import duties ("Made in USA") would make 'em even lower-priced...

Would be WORTH doing a resale i guess stil for a very reasonable price and in quantity im sure they would do so for much cheaper and finish off at home/workshop and resell on ebay etc. Just buy finished bodys/necks and install hardware or at least electronics eithe as a stand alone model or as per customer request. The bloke that finished my kit SG for me gets guitars ready made like semis etc with his logo on them made in China for him and he resells for like $5-600 a piece. (probably gets them for $120-150 ea!) Guitars he makes him self locally he charges $2K+! @ Will, NICE semi thinline Tele with arch top! NOT something you see every day! This bodes well! Will watch with intent!

Good morning
I saw that our website got some response here. We are happy that people here understand what we want to do. We have long time experience in making guitars and have now setup with only few staff a company where we want to make what people really want. I am not sure if the email in the website is working because many things are still under construction and we not advertise yet but we just have the route her and in about 2 weeks we start producing. WE are the Thai female owner of the small company who's name is Dang and I am from Europe and live and work about 15 years in Thailand. I play guitar over 50 years now and know what I like and in working in guitar industry in China and Vietnam I have learned how NOT do handle your customers ! If people ordered I apologize if we did not respond and I will ask the webmaster to check this today !
A few things that are important regarding guitars we make;
- Like we said in the website WE NOT MAKE BAND NAMES on our guitars - We can make any inlay in real mother of pearl and abalone but NO racist or offending wording please !!!!! - We not make huge volume because that you can order in China and we simply want to make and use the best - The price for the PRS model with floral inlay is a price that is a sample we make a price for every guitar - We try to be cheap but using the best components in hardware we will be higher in price than others - We can make (like many companies do ) make the separate parts and you can assemble in your country making it "USA made"
For the moment you can mail Dang with any questions at he gmail account [email address removed] and like I said you can expect to have the order form and the other mail as soon as possible working ( that is this week !!!!! )
Regards and questions are welcome

I'm not a webmaster here, but I do appreciate your input!!
This very lovely site is a haven for guitarists of all levels, who appreciate a well-built instrument, and don't believe they NEED to spend thousands of dollars to find quality. Your company's presence here would be appreciated (by me, at least), especially if you are willing to share with us some bits of knowledge about the processes involved in creating your instruments. Though some of us are highly skilled guitarists, most of us enjoy learning about the means used to create the instruments we love.
