Having dispensed my usual (potentially goofy) advice, I'm thinking again about creating pedals. I've got a good list of vendors, & this Internet thing is proving handy, but I've already found a couple of shortfalls, so I'm open to ideas.

8-pin ZIF sockets. 40-pin are cheap & plentiful, 16-pin almost as much, but I'd like to have something perfect for the need.

cases. I like the selection from Tricked Out Guitar, but I'd prefer to have options other than back-milled aluminum. Allied used to sell one that was a milled frame with sheet-metal front AND back panels, which made builds/mods a breeze. AllElectronics sells a variety of Hammond cases:
