Today I ordered a Joyo Tremolo JF-09 used from Amazon.com. The cost total was $35.00. This is a really good Tremolo pedal and is basically a knockoff of a Diaz Tremodillo pedal. It seems that Joyo has a knockoff of some of the most used boutique pedals.. Though they may be similar, I doubt that they are an exact copy, but who knows. I would rather spend $35 instead of close to $200 for the real deal. I can have some parts upgraded on this pedal if I feel the need, but usually for a pedal that is not used all the time, I am more often than not to buy a cheaper brand and save my money for a pedal that is in a league of its own like all of Brian Wampler's pedals... Man, that guy is brilliant.

Review to come once I get a chance to use the Tremolo.

Let's see if the pedal can live up to the hype. I will be the test gasser for the board on this one. lol

I've got 2 more Joyo pedals on the way, dyna compressor and the digital delay. I already have the ultimate drive, crunch distortion, and tremolo. Of those 3 I am really digging the crunch distortion, but they all are pretty decent. Heck of a value you're getting with these pedals. Hope you enjoy the trem!!

What do you think the Crunch pedal is a clone of? How do you like the Ultra Drive?

I just did some looking and apparently the Joyo Crunch Drive is a clone of the MI Audio Crunch Box, which is a rocking pedal. I don't know how true it is to the original or if Joyo used quality parts, but Joyo is creating look a like pedals for dirt cheap.

Yes the crunch distortion is based on the mi audio crunchbox. I've never tried that pedal, but if it's anything like the Joyo then it must be good. It may be one of my favorite distortion pedals, but it does have a pronounced upper midrange sound, which some people may not like. I do like that tone, it sounds like a Marshall stack, and really cuts through the mix in a band setting. Everyone has raved about the ultimate drive, but I think it really lacks some note definition, especially when playing arpeggios. This to me is a bit of a turnoff, otherwise the pedal does sound pretty nice, especially on a strat with single coils. I just received my new delay and compressor today, hopefully I'll get a chance to try them tomorrow. I now own 5 Joyo pedals, and I want to try the phaser, chorus and flanger too. I think I may have a problem, lol.

Let us know what you think about the compressor. I read today that it is a knockoff of a Barber Tone Press. Which is a great pedal.

I finally had a chance to try out the new pedals today. Here's my initial assessment of them...

Dyna compressor, this is a relatively subtle compressor. It retains the overall tone of your guitar pretty well, although you do lose a bit of high frequency clarity. If you want massive amounts of compression than this isn't the pedal for you, but if you just want to smooth things out a bit and add extra punch to single notes then i would say it does the job. It's not as good as my Guyatone ST-2(my favorite compressor as of yet, and out of production) but it is an excellent backup.

Digital delay, extremely warm sounding for a digital pedal, i bet you would think it was analog if it didn't say digital on the box. Up to 600ms delay, which is as much as I'd ever need(I typically just use delay to get a lead sound like David Gilmour). With certain dirtbox pedals it boosts the high end quite a bit, seems like it does it more with true bypass pedals vs. buffered ones. Does it sound as good as my TC electronic nova repeater, well no. But for $40 it is a fine delay pedal that anyone would enjoy.

Overall I like these Joyo pedals, they sound better than most Boss pedals. Are they as good as some boutique pedals, maybe. But for the price they are great.

Give me a couple of days to get my cables straight. I moved a few things around and the Send/Return loop now has a bad cable. I have to fish it out and I will be ready to give a clip... I look forward to it...
