I was looking for more info on the "made by Martin" Stinger guitars, & tripped over this: http://guitaramplifierpcbs.com/default.aspx$25-$35 for the board. I spent a couple years proofing multi-layer PCBs for a living at a DOD contractor with the occasional wave of military wandering around, so let's say my standards are pretty high. This guy's designs, masked & screened, impress me greatly. It saddens me that he died so young, as it looks like he was onto something. The best place to start looks like the Baby Will model, a clone of the Marshall "1974" circuit, 18 watts of legendary tone: http://guitaramplifierpcbs.com/liteiib.aspxIf this site EVER comes back, there's some discussion of similar circuits: http://www.18watt.com/The project is partnered with Antique Electronic Supply a.k.a. Tubes And More: http://www.tubesandmore.com/litellb.htmLess than $100 to get started (even cheaper if you want to upconvert a Valve Junior) & AES has some spiffy items to create a housing. |
All a writer really needs is a blank page and a bad attitude. |
