WOW!!! They do rock and sound VERY NY.
I do have to admit that I never heard of "The MIGHTY NY DOLLS" until your post.
I was hit right off the bat because I thought they were chicks. hahahahaha

perhaps but a "Gender Identity" issue would be more appropriate :)
yes I know they are a Glam Band probably from the 80's

anyway Thank you for posting this AXMAN. I listened to it while I did my TAXMAN forms for my 2016 state income tax return.

Seriously? You'd NEVER heard of The Dolls? Blink
1 of the most influential and seminal of the proto-glam/punk/metal movement???

80's? Are you kidding, the NY Dolls started in '71, & released their debut album in '73!

They were a BIG influence on the early look of Wicked Lester/KISS. The Ramones copied them, The Sex Pistols, The Smiths, most 80's androgynous hair metal bands like Poison, Motely Crue, Faster Pussycat.
Not just the look but the sound as well!

A very under appreciated band. NOT musically great, but had a great groove to their playing/sound!

The only other band that were more influential and genera spawning would have been SLADE!

BIG acts like The Beatles & The Stones were in their OWN categories. Highly influential, but not really genera spawning as such, even tho they WERE a big influence on The Dolls! (The Stones in particular)

Only 2 original members still survive, Singer David Johansen, (aka Buster Poindexter) & guitarist Sylvain Mizrahi (Sylvain Sylvain).

They were still performing off and on as late as 2009. (Thanks to Morrisey getting them back together as he was the UK fan club president for many years!)

Southern blues rock at its finest.
With Head Phones you can hear all the stereo guitar.
One guitar in one ear and another in the other ear. :<)

RIP Chris Cornell.

I always liked Chris in Audioslave.
This was a hit in 2003, when I was working in Kansas.
What a great Vocal!
Here's a couple of vids to name a few.

He was also part of the Temple of the Dog collaboration, along with Pearl Jams, Mike McCready guitar & Eddie Vedder, on shared vocals.

Yet MORE lost from the talent pool! Cursing

It's been bad enough the past 18 mths with all the music & acting talent deaths, (mostly due to illness/poor health) but to die by his own hand... makes it even worse!

Sickness I can understand, but by CHOICE? He had everything, inc a beautiful family! OhMyGod

I can't accept this type of suicide! So, so wrong! (I felt the same way when Robin Williams killed him self!)

If it was that bad for him, he should have just retired, and spent time with his family, that would have got him thru. He had enough money he wouldn't have needed to work for many years.

They ALWAYS got to go out in a blaze of glory!

RIP Chris! Crying
