Okay, I gotta say good stuff about a local boy, from a little town you've never heard of (Red Lake Falls, MN) & almost unknown up here but a regular on the blues festival circuit & very popular in the Deep South.

That'd be Robert Houle, a.k.a. Little Bobby & the Storm.

Mostly live, with a few produced videos. Here's the YouTube list --
https://www.youtube.com/results?...ttle+bobby+and+the+storm

Now I can't find his video of "I Think I'd Rather Go Blind." This has a LOT of irony & wistfulness to it, as his eyesight has been failing, & he's now legally blind. If I locate it, I'll note it.

I ran into him here mid-December, while he was looking for new digs, & we've been hanging out when he's in town.

The guy's all about the music. If we buy him dinner & a steady supply of Grain Belt beer, he will happily play until sunrise -- yes, literally. If you spot his name as an opener, be sure to get there early: he WILL blow away the next act or two!!

There really is no "The Storm": he travels light & will hire whatever friends are available to back him at a gig. I've worked with him infrequently for the past five years. I sometimes sit in on bass, so I guess I'm one of the band... Anyway, he seems amused that I'm so tickled to work with a dude that's not much past half my age.

If there weren't a dearth of drummers hereabouts, we'd probably be doing random pop-up sets all over NW Minnesota just for the heck of it -- now that I think of it, I really NEED to get an acoustic/electric bass, then we can just storm in & do the duo thing until the clientele complains!

I just "discovered" this young man. If you don't want to watch the whole video, at least skip to 19:00 for a great solo. Or at about 12:30 sounding a bit like SRV

Oh yeah! Applause This bloke is GOOD! ThumpUp

The NEW B.B. I think! IF B.B. shredded blues, he would be this guy!

Lots of influences there, BB for sure, Stevie, Eric, Alvin Lee also! He was a blues shredder.

Sadly, he isn't going to be around too long unless he does something about his size! Sadly, black people suffer greater health problems for the same amount of obesity/over weightness, than white or asian people do!

I mean he IS big/tall, cos look @ that 335 he's playing, it looks small on him!

Hope he's around a long time, cos he's a BIG talent on guitar and vocals! ThumpUp (NO pun intended!)

DAMN! Mad He's still a teenager! That's not good! He needs to do something!
He won't last to Poppa Chubby's age at the same size!

Be a BIG shame! (Again NO pun intended)
