This company has some interesting titles: hand exercises, practice methods, Bill Foley's volume on electric guitar construction, tube amp mods, the histories of Vox & Hagstrom...

Here's a few I really like:

Sheets of Sounds by Jack Zucker - Good instructional book and introduction to jazz with a bunch of patterns and approaches to tunes in the style of different jazz artists.

Build Your Own Electric Guitar by Martin Oakham - good high level book on electric guitar construction.

Guitar Player Repair Guide by Dan Elrewine - The best general reference book you'll find, I promise...

I look at myself as a blues player, but want to break out of the box. Any suggestions for a book which can teach me to play a little more interestingly, like say Robbin Ford?

I have a prejudice against sheet music, as I don't read worth crap -- weirdly though, I enjoy sheet music for JS Bach & Debussy.

If you're thinking of getting loose from the I-IV-V shuffle, the best thing you can do is listen. I have a few players I'll obsess on, repeating songs or entire albums, before I go & woodshed for an hour or two. While I'm nowhere as good as ANY of 'em, it breaks me out of the comfortable ruts.

Rather than any book, go & pillage YouTube. A fair bit of Robben Ford. Here's a simple bluesy one to get you started: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=...GjI4&feature=related

Also look for the keyword pentatonic.
